Georgia tries to attract cheap capital

19 August 2011 [08:30] - TODAY.AZ
The Chamber of Commerce and Trade of Georgia begins to draw up memorandums with export-import banks of different countries, the head of the Chamber, Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili told reporters.

Memorandums will also be drawn up with the international companies that provide investment loans, for example, French Copa, Israeli Ashra and German Hermes.

According to Baindurashvili, these memorandums will improve accessibility to loans for the Georgia businesses, and Georgian businessmen will be able to easily obtain long-term and relatively cheap loans.

Baindurashvili said earlier that the main challenge facing the Georgian business is the shortage of capital. According to him, there are many interesting ideas and projects, the implementation of which requires finance. But the Georgian banks are limited in this direction because they can not provide long-term loans.
