
Fifteen soldiers were injured Monday in Turkey's western province of Izmir during a training exercise, Xinhua reported.
The soldiers were injured after a mortar round fell short during a training exercise at the Izmir Foca gendarmerie commando training command, the Turkish DHA news agency reported.
The mortar round dropped short and fell in the vicinity of soldiers watching the exercises.
However, no official statement was immediately available.
The wounded soldiers were taken to hospital and are all reported to be in stable condition.
