PM: Georgia increases export by 40 percent in January-April

24 May 2011 [18:13] - TODAY.AZ
Georgia extended its export area, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said at a cabinet meeting today.

He said Georgia increased its exports by 40 percent for four months in 2011. "The products made in Georgia are exported to new countries, covering more new markets," he said.

The PM briefed the members of the government with macroeconomic indices. The four-percent GDP growth was fixed in the first quarter. The economic indices increased by six percent, he said.

He said that the inflation in April was zero as in March. But the annual rate still remains high. It hits 12 percent. "We forecast that annual inflation to decrease and hit 9.8 percent," he said.
