Turkey may invest in Nenskra HPP construction in Georgia

Representatives of Georgian Railways subsidiary - "Georgian Railway Construction" and its financial consultant KPMG are holding business meetings in Turkey.

The Georgian delegation’s visit to Turkey aims at attracting potential investors and holding talks with interested companies. The meetings will be held with the largest companies in energy sector. The Turkish side expressed its interest in investing in the construction of 400-megawatt Nenskra hydropower plant in western Georgia.

Georgian Railway Construction based on a memorandum of understanding concluded in June 2010 between the Georgian energy and economy ministries and Commercial Operator of Electric Power Systems received exclusive right to build a hydropower plant in Svaneti on the Nenskra River.

KPMG was selected as a consultant based on an international tender.
