05 May 2011 [09:52] - TODAY.AZ
Georgia's annual inflation in the month of April was 13.5 percent, down from 13.9 percent in the previous month, the Georgian statistical service GeoStat said on Wednesday.

The state statistics service said that the decrease in inflation was the first since July last year and it attributed the still high inflation to high prices of food and fuel, Xinhua reported.

Prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 28.6 percent year-on-year in April while fuel prices were up by 21.7 percent year-on-year in the same month.

Prices on fruits increased the most in April by 70.6 percent, followed by prices on vegetables for 36.4 percent. Prices on edible oil increased 34.5 percent.
