Georgia aims high at Three Clean's, says president

11 April 2011 [09:51] - TODAY.AZ
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has zeroed in on a high aim of Three Clean's to make the South Caucasus country clean of corruption, crime and crap of pollution , Xinhua reported.

"Georgia should be fully clean of corruption and today I can say that this is actually already achieved," said Saakashvili. "Georgia is clean of corruption and many other countries around us cannot even dream about it."

Local media on Sunday quoted the president as naming the second and third clean's as clean of crime and clean of pollution.

"The second - Georgia should be clean of crime. And the third - Georgia ecologically-clean country."

The Three Clean's would render Georgia an "absolutely new model of the country which will be an example for others in the region," the president added.

Saakashvili set the high aims while talking with a group of visiting students at his residence in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

He told the students that his government would not only make the country one of the safest growing countries in Europe but one of the cleanest as well.

Georgia expects to achieve the third clean - clean of crap of pollution - through building and resorting to more clean energy.

The South Caucasus country is planning to build a 100-megawatt wind farm next year and it is considering the feasibility of building a major hydropower plant in the Major Caucasus Mountain Range this year.
