Georgia to use electric cars

The first shipment of electric cars will be delivered to Georgia by late 2011, RENAULT Export Manager in Eurasia Alexander Zhurkin said in Tbilisi.

"The Georgian government and RENAULT and NISSAN have already reached an agreement on this issue," he said.

The retail sale of electric vehicles in Georgia will start in 2012, Zhurkin said.

"The price of an electric RENAULT-NISSAN starts at 6,000 euro," he added.
