28 August 2010 [10:45] - TODAY.AZ
The steps to normalize Turkish-Armenian relations have not yielded any results, but the process is ongoing, the new chief of General Staff of the Turkish army, General Ishik Koshaner  said at the ceremony of hand-over of powers on Friday, Hurriyet reported.

According to him, finding a solution within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity is a key to building peace and stability in the region.

Ishik Koshaner has replaced General Ilker Bashbug.

Officially Koshaner will serve as Chief of General Staff from Aug. 30.

According to him, Russian-Georgian conflict has once again demonstrated the importance of the Montreux Convention on the status of the straits.

"The Russian-Georgian conflict has once again demonstrated the importance of the Black Sea and Montreux Convention on the status of the straits", Koshaner noted.
