A skull belonging to a Homo sapiens has been found in Italy's River Po, it emerged on Monday, Azernews reports, citing ANSA.
The discovery was made by Davide Persico, professor of palaeontology at the University of Parma and mayor of San Daniele Po near Cremona.
The find, half-hidden by gravel at the confluence of the Po and the River Adda, probably dates to the Palaeolithic period and includes two parietal bones and the occipital bone.
