A statement released by the International Atomic Energy Agency on October 15 confirming Tehran's cooperation with the IAEA is the outcome of bilateral intensive work.
This was announced by Iranian Foreign Ministry's Director General for Political and International Security Affaris Hamid Baeidinejad, IRNA reported.
Baeidinejad, who is also a ranking member of Iran's nuclear team in negotiations with the P5+1 group of world powers hailed the smart coordination among domestic institutions notably the country's defense sector.
"The IAEA has announced that in the period to October 15, 2015, activities set out in the roadmap for the clarification of past and present outstanding issues regarding Iran’s nuclear program' were completed," he wrote on his Instagram page. "The cooperation with IAEA was made to prove falsehood of the unbased allegations against our country which were raised for more than ten years and which some international observers believed had turned the solving the issue of PMD (Possible Military Dimension) next to impossible."
Experts believe that the roadmap is indicative of a fundamental change in Iran-IAEA relations on one side and a turnabout in the P5+1 approach to the Iranian nuclear case on the other.
The Tehran-IAEA roadmap was signed on July 14, the same day that Iran and the P5+1 group – the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany – finalized the text of their nuclear agreement in Vienna dubbed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
As part of the roadmap, the IAEA is required to finish its investigations on Iran’s nuclear activities and submit a report to the agency’s Board of Governors by December 15.
Tehran says it has provided the necessary documents and explanations about its past and present nuclear issues to the IAEA within the agreed time frame.
