             The first communications satellite of Turkmenistan “TurkmenAlem 52°E” was launched from the spaceport at the Cape Canaveral (Florida,USA), the Turkmen government said April 28.
The unit, built by the French Thales Alenia Space company, was launched into space by a carrier rocket Falcon 9.
A teleconference between the city of Ashgabat and the launching site of SpaceX company (USA) was organized on this occasion, which was attended by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov.
“This connection satellite will give a powerful impetus to improving the quality of national broadcasting television and radio channels, creating conditions for live TV, establishing a high-quality system of the Internet, distance education and telemedicine promotion,” said the message.
This communication system will also contribute to the formation of a cellular network in the settlements located in the province, open up broad prospects for the development of information system based on the latest technologies and innovations, according to the message.
