US to UN: No spying on communications now and in future

The United States has told the United Nations that it is not spying on internal communications, nor will it do so in the future, UN Spokesman Martin Nesirky said Wednesday, dpa reported.

"The US authorities have given assurances that United Nations communications are not and will not be monitored," Nesirky said.

Nesirky did not specify when the US made the statement, nor did he comment on allegations of the US spying on UN communications in the past.
