First Turkish made ships partake in naval drill

The first "Heybeliada" Turkish made ships are now participating in the DEN?ZKURDU-13 naval exercises, Anadolu news agency said today.

According to the agency, these ships were ordered as part of the "M?LGEM" project in 2007.

The Turkish defense industry has recently focused on the development and production of its own products. Turkey managed to achieve 54% self-sufficiency in the defense industry.
