Erdogan: No armed group in Syria receives support from Turkey

22 May 2013 [08:15] - TODAY.AZ
Turkey does not support any of the armed groups in Syria, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters on Tuesday, TRT Haber reported.

Erdogan said Turkey will continue providing logistical support, as it did before.

"We provide logistical support for Syrians both in Turkey and Syria. This support includes the provision of food, medicines and other essentials," the Prime Minister said.

Clashes between government forces and armed opposition have continued in Syria for over two years. According to the UN statistics, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria exceeds 70,000 people and nearly three million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. Syrian authorities say they are opposed to the well-armed militants.
