
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has give a response to the Parliament’s Coups and Military Memorandums Inquiry Commission.
“I and my friend paid a heavy price during the Feb. 28 [process of 1997],” Erdogan said. The era of coups is now over, Erdogan said, adding that coup plotters had attempted to engineer society.
Erdogan also said speculation over his meeting with Chief of General Staff. Gen. Yasar Buyukan?t on May 4, 2007 – during which the two are alleged to have cut a secret deal – was exagerrated and incorrect. The meeting was entirely ordinairy, he added.
