Turkish, Georgian leaders had phone talk

In a telephone conversation with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the democratic nature of the recent parliamentary elections, the Georgian presidential administration said on Thursday.

Both parties discussed the elections in Georgia. Erdogan has promised Saakashvili full support and cooperation towards joining NATO and Euro-Atlantic integration.

At the end of the conversation Turkish Prime Minister expressed his wish to meet with the Georgian president in the near future.

Parliamentary elections were held in Georgia on October 1. Around 14 parties and two political blocs participated in the elections.

According to full the preliminary data of the Georgian Central Election Commission, the Georgian Dream coalition will receive 83 seats in the parliament, and the United National Movement, 67.
