Georgian PM promises to stop torture

All participants in the Gldan prison incident were arrested, and some are wanted, Georgian PM Vano Merabishvili declared.

He said the accident is revolting.

According to Merabishvili, all the culprits will face the court and be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

I guarantee, that tortures in prisons will be eradicated as in police,- the premier noted.
Previously, Corrections Minister Khatuna Kalmakhelidze resigned. At the briefing, she explained her resignation was tied into evidence of torture in Tbilisi Prison No.8.

Yesterday, protests were held in connection with videos of abuse of prisoners that were shown by opposition TV channels. The president promised to punish those who were responsible.
