Number of shipwreck victims near Turkish coast ups

The number of victims of the fishing vessel's crash in the Aegean Sea, which was carrying illegal immigrants increased to 61, CNN Turk channel reported.

Earlier it was reported about 58 people died.

The ship, heading from Turkey to Britain, sank near the Turkish city of Izmir

Some 46 people were rescued, including the captain and his assistant. There were migrants from Iraq, Syria, Palestine, mostly women and children on the ship.

Law enforcement authorities arrested two Turkish citizens. They are suspected of organizing an illegal human trafficking, according to CNN Turk, citing a source in the Interior Ministry.
