Ten people suspected of espionage detained in Turkey

Ten people suspected of spying for Iran were detained in the Turkish province of Igdir, the newspaper Hurriyet reported today.

Two Iranian citizens Mohammed Reza Esmae?lpour and Shahram Zargham, who are charged with the transmission of information about the members of the Syrian opposition in Turkish territory, were detained during a special operation.

According to the newspaper, surveillance over detainees was conducted during the year. It was found that they took pictures and shot videos of the police buildings and military facilities. The information collected was transmitted to Iranian intelligence services.

Eight Turkish citizens were detained together with Iranian citizens. A criminal case was filed.
