Turkish soldier killed by PKK militants

A Turkish soldier was killed and three others wounded in a shootout between militants of terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party and Turkish soldiers in Hakkari Province, the Sabah newspaper reported.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has lasted for over 25 years, claiming over 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognised as a terrorist organisation by both the UN and the EU.
