'Georgia can play special role in regional stability'

06 June 2012 [17:13] - TODAY.AZ
The situation in the occupied territories and political role of Georgia in the region will be the main topics of the meetings, which a member of the Political Committee of PACE Latchezar Toshev will hold in the Parliament of Georgia. During the visit he will meet with the chairman of parliament and MPs.

An agreement on the establishment of stability in the region was signed last year, Toshev told reporters upon arrival in Tbilisi.

"For the visit to the Caucasus, Georgia was selected first because we think that Georgia can perform a special role in regional cooperation. It keeps good relations both with Armenia, and Azerbaijan, and we think it can play a special role to achieve this goal," Toshev said.
