Iran, IAEA to meet in Vienna

14 May 2012 [10:48] - TODAY.AZ
The Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are set to begin a meeting in Vienna, Austria.

Three months after their last negotiation, the representatives of Iran and the IAEA will meet in the Austrian capital on Monday.

Iran and the IAEA held two rounds of talks in the Iranian capital in January and February.

Iran's Ambassador to the IAEA Ali Asghar Soltanieh said on April 27 that the main aim of the talks would be to devise a framework for answering questions about Tehran’s nuclear energy program.

The new round of the talks between Iran and the IAEA comes as Tehran and the P5+1 (Britain, France, Russia, China and the United States plus Germany) are preparing to hold another meeting in Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on May 23.

Iran and the P5+1 wrapped up the first round of their latest negotiations on April 14 in the Turkish city of Istanbul, and both sides hailed talks as constructive.
