'No war with Israel is viewed'

06 March 2012 [19:47] - TODAY.AZ
Iran does not think about going to war with Israel, General Director of Institute of Political and International Studies of Iran's Foreign Ministry , Mostafa Dolatyar told Trend in an interview in Baku.

Israel has been threatening to launch strikes to prevent Iran getting the bomb, saying Tehran's continued technological progress means it could soon pass into a "zone of immunity."

"Israel could not do anything during the war in Gaza, as we have seen," Dolatyar said. "Iran is a different matter, so right now we do not talk about a possible war".

Speaking about a possible war against the U.S. and its allies, Dolatyar noted that starting another war in the region will not bring anything good to anyone.

"In my opinion, our region has seen enough of wars," Dolatyar said. "No one benefits from a war".

He added that for the last ten years, the U.S. have been involved wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and if it starts another war with Iran, it will be destroyed.

"We believe it is better to think of other ways to resolve conflicts, rather than with military power," he added.
