'Situation with Iran may develop further by this summer'

The situation with Iran, accused by the Western countries of developing nuclear weapons, may develop further by summer of this year, RIA Novosti quotes Russian Chief of General Staff, Army General Nikolai Makarov as saying.

The U.S. said it does not take any option off the table, as far as Iran's nuclear program is concerned.

"Of course, Iran is a sore point. The situation around Iran's nuclear program will have some sort of a solution, and it might come out this summer," Makarov said.

The general added that the situation in the Middle East and Iran is being monitored by the newly established center of the Defense Ministry. Makarov added that the General Staff is able to monitor the situation in Iran in real time.
