French Senate's decision is 'irresponsible act'

Adoption of a law criminalizing denial of the so-called "Armenian genocide" by the French Senate is "irresponsible act", Turkish Foreign Ministry said in its statement, TRT Haber TV channel reported.

"We strongly condemn this decision, which is doubtful in all respects and is an example of irresponsibility", the Ministry's communiqué says.

"Turkey will take all necessary measures to fight the French Senate's decision," the diplomats stated adding that the country's Foreign Ministry will "declare its attitude to the bill from all possible tribunes".

After a nearly eight-hour debate, Frech Senate - Upper House of parliament adopted the bill. Some 127 senators voted in favor of the bill, while 86 senators were against.
