Azerbaijan, UK exchange experiences on local self-government

Chief executives of Baku`s Sabunchu, Absheron districts as well as governors of cities of Sumgait, Ganja and Tovuz of Azerbaijan embarked on the UK visit on the initiative of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration to share experience on local self-government. According to head of the Azerbaijan`s delegation, executive of the Presidential Administration Rafil Huseynov, prior to this trip the Azeri delegates had been to the Republic of Korea and Singapore. The present visit also aims to strengthen Azerbaijan-UK ties.

The Azerbaijani delegation met with the members of UK-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, familiarized itself with the self-administration methods in London districts. The Azerbaijani delegation also met with the representatives of the British society in the Azerbaijani Embassy during the visit. The event was attended by the members of the UK parliament, Azerbaijani Diaspora and other officials.

Azerbaijan Ambassador to the UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov made speech in the event. The visit will last till 24.
