Romanian President meets Azerbaijani Prime Minister

Romanian President Traian Basescu yesterday met with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.

The Romanian leader said his current visit would give an impetus to the development of bilateral relations. He praised agreements reached by the two countries in previous years, saying "they already yield results". President Basescu hailed Azerbaijan's role in development of cooperation.

Prime Minister Rasizade described Romania as "a friend of Azerbaijan". He gave high assessment to development of the bilateral ties in versatile fields, in particular agricultural one.

Rasizade said the reciprocal visits by heads of states make "great" contribution to the further deepening of cooperation.

The Azerbaijani Premier praised Romania's support for the position of his country in international organizations.

The two exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
