Reproductive health issues in Azerbaijan discussed

Chairwoman of Azerbaijan's State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Hijran Huseynova met Wednesday head of the Lithuanian Seimas` Committee on European Affairs, Rūta Bunevičiūtė, who is in Baku to discuss the draft law on “Reproductive health” within the framework of the European Union`s Twinning Programme.

Huseynova briefed Bunevičiūtė on what was being done in her country to ensure reproductive health. She said President Ilham Aliyev places great emphasis on healthy development of Azeri citizens

Huseynova also underlined the importance of efforts of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s President, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva to strengthen reproductive health in the country.

Bunevičiūtė, in turn, praised what was being done in Azerbaijan to ensure reproductive health. Representative of Lithuanian Seimas` Committee on Health Affairs, Jolanta Bandzienė and advisor of the Twinning Programme, Jonas Cekuolis were also present in the meeting.
