The board meeting of the Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO) decided to celebrate day of Shusha's occupation May 8 - as "Day of hate to invaders", the KLO said.
Based on the decision, it is expected to organize visits to Martyrs' Alley in Baku and regions, the burning of the flag of the invader Armenia and photographs of terrorist leaders and conduct other activities on this day.
KLO considers that express of particular hate towards the occupiers on this day is expedient due to the fact that Shusha is a symbol of Karabakh and one of the oldest and richest places of Azerbaijani culture.
"The crimes and atrocities committed by the enemy against our people must not be forgotten, a feeling of hatred and revenge to the Armenian occupation should be strengthened," the KLO reported.
Shusha is located in Nagorno Karabakh, and was occupied by Armenia May 8, 1992. Hundreds of civilians were killed, roughly 60 civilians were taken hostage and hundreds went missing. Women and children were among the dead, wounded and hostages. Approximately 22,000 people became refugees. There are 248 historical monuments, 8 museums, an art gallery, a mausoleum, 8 music schools and dozens of cultural objects in the occupied territory.
