Azerbaijani Defense Minister meets with Pakistani Secretary of Defense

On Thursday, Secretary of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Syed Athar Ali, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, met with Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Safar Abiyev, the Ministry of Defence reported.

After Pakistan's guest visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Honorary Cemetery, the Defense Ministry held a reception ceremony. Hymns of both countries were performed.

Discussions were held on the dynamics of development of military cooperation between the defense ministries of both countries during the meeting. Safar Abiyev said that the cooperation with Pakistan in the military field, as well as close cooperation in many other areas, give results.

The issues of military-political situation in the region and policy of Armenia, which hinders the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were discussed at the meeting. Azerbaijani Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Eynulla Madatli attended the meeting.
