Azerbaijani President extends condolences to Egyptian counterpart

“I was deeply saddened upon hearing the news on the death of outstanding religious figure, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Mohammad Sayyid Tantawi," the letter says.

"I share your sorrow over the bereavement and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on behalf of myself, I offer deep sympathies to You, family and friends of the late, and all the people of Egypt. May Allah rest his soul in peace!” the letter reads.
