French President sends letter to Azerbaijan's First Lady on her awarding with officer rank of Legion of Honor

As reported earlier, Azerbaijan's First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded with the Officer rank of the Legion of Honor by the French President's order, AzerTAj state news agency reported.

The French leader Nicolas Sarkozy has sent a letter to Azerbaijan's first lady Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva on this occasion.

"With great pleasure, I have issued the order to award You with the Officer rank of the Legion of Honor. This well-known prize, which I decided to award You from my personnel order fund, is in acknowledgement of Your outstanding service and loyalty to France," President Sarkozy said in his letter.

"I also seize this opportunity to send You my personal congratulations and best wishes, You deserve in service and loyalty to France," the French President's letter reads.

In her reply to the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva expresses gratitude for the decoration with the Officer rank of the Legion of Honor, and estimates this as highest appreciation for her merits in development of bilateral relations.

Mrs. Aliyeva also states that she would spare no efforts to further encourage the friendly and cooperation relations between Azerbaijan and France.
