Azerbaijani military expert: Situation on contact line of Azerbaijani, Armenian troops heating up

"First and foremost, I express my deep condolences to relatives of soldiers of the Azerbaijani army who died in the shooting by Armenian snipers. May Allah rest their souls in peace," Azerbaijani military expert Uzeir Jafarov said commenting on the shooting on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian forces which left three Azerbaijani soldiers dead and one injured.

"The OSCE Minsk Group, which claims that there is no alternative to the peaceful settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, must be informed of  this another provocation by the Armenian side and cynical disregard of the ceasefire,” the expert said.

“As we see, Armenia has a specific vision of the peace. They understand it as a situation that gives them a right to kill Azerbaijani soldiers and yell every time, when the opposite side takes retaliatory steps," Jafarov said.

“I believe the Armenian troops carried put this provocation upon the request of their patrons from among the superpowers who are interested in destabilizing the situation in our region in order to act as peacekeepers later.”

"There could be further provocation from the Armenian side. The situation on the front line is heating up. I would have advise commanders of military units located on the line of contact to remain vigilant and calm and not to succumb to provocations by the Armenian side,” Jafarov added.
