Israeli FM meets Azerbaijan national oil company president

President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met with visiting Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Feb. 10.
SOCAR President Abdullayev said Israel-Azerbaijan relations are steadily developing.

Israeli Foreign Minister noted Azerbaijan had achieved huge accomplishments in political, cultural, economic and other fields over the recent years.

He said, “Azerbaijan has earned an image of reliable energy supplier in the world”. Lieberman praised SOCAR-implemented regional energy projects, adding the company enjoys the international business community's confidence.

Abdullayev told of the large-scale energy projects implemented by Azerbaijan, saying the huge network of oil and gas export pipelines had been created in the country.

Lieberman said he met with President Ilham Aliyev to express Israel`s willingness to cooperate with Azerbaijan in the field of energy, in particular, alternative energy.

Israeli FM said Israel was interested in importing energy resources produced in Azerbaijan.
