Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, has praised his country's relations with Azerbaijan.
In an interview with AzerTAc, Yousef bin Abdullah said the relations between the two countries were developing “at a very rapid pace”.

The FM expressed confidence the scope of the Azeri-Omani relations would be further expanded.

“We've had very fruitful talks here in Baku and came to agreement to lay legal foundations for our cooperation in a number of spheres. These include promoting and protecting investment, avoiding double taxation, launching direct air communication, organizing reciprocal visits and joint cultural events.”

Yousef bin Abdullah praised the two countries` diplomatic relations.
“We hail the Azeri government`s decision to open embassy in Oman, it will make a great contribution to our relations from many points of view.”

The Omani minister vowed his country would reciprocate the move “in the near future”.

He also touched on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stressing Oman backs Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.

“The whole international community is well aware of the fact that Armenia occupied Azerbaijan`s territories. Oman supports a solution which will be based on international legal norms,” said Yousef bin Abdullah.
