Mistakes on Armenian president's official website get corrected - PHOTO

25 January 2010 [12:00] - TODAY.AZ
The prevocative map of the so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” together with Azerbaijan’s occupied lands has been removed from the official Web site of the Armenian Presidential Administration.
As it was reported earlier, the Armenian Presidential Administration had posted the so-called “single map of the Republic of Armenia and “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” which also included Azerbaijan’s occupied lands.

One could easily see that it included not only the Nagorno-Karabakh region, but the rest Azerbaijani regions occupied by Armenia. Moreover, part of Azerbaijani territory adjacent to the currently occupied territories was also shown as a territory of the Nagorno-Karabakh separatist regime.

“This points to Armenia’s unconstructive approach to the negotiations on peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Elkhan Polukhov said commenting on the provocation on the Armenian president’s Web site.

“Azerbaijan sees this fact as another Armenian provocation,” Polukhov said.

“Such steps by the Armenian side can have a negative impact on the entire negotiation process to settle the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he added.

The previous version of the map was given in the article "Provocation on Armenian president’s official Web site- PHOTO."

But now the Web site features more “constructive” version of the map with some mistakes still remaining.

For example, Azerbaijan’s Armenia-occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region has been depicted with a different color from Azerbaijan’s territory. In addition, Azerbaijan’s Nagorno-Karabakh region has been shown as “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”. Apart from this, the map also has the name "Stepanakert", by which Armenia refers to Azerbaijani city of Khankandi.

Below is the new version of the provocative map:
