“Russia is interested more than anyone in normalization of relationship among our neighbors in the South Caucasus region”, said Prime Minister Vladimir Putin at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Putin said Russia has close ties with both Azerbaijan and Armenia, adding economic cooperation between Russia and them is developing.
“For example, we have recently started buying gas from Azerbaijan.”
Putin underlined Russia is keen on settlement of the conflicts which he said “we inherited from the past.”
He added “we are interested in the soonest resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and rapproachment between Turkey and Armenia, too.”
He said Moscow will contribute to solving these issues.
