Azerbaijan is concerned over the U.S. aid to the self-declared Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“The U.S. also should deliver aid to the people displaced from occupied lands as it delivered to those living there,” Spokesman for Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov sai.
He was commenting on the $8 million assistance offered by the U.S. Congress to Nagorno-Karabakh.
Polukhov said Azerbaijani side is expecting the U.S. to coordinate with Azerbaijan the steps taken in connection with such programs and inform Azerbaijan about it.
“We have always raised the issue on providing aid to the Azerbaijani community. Discrimination is inadmissible. Equal assistance should be delivered to the people living in the occupied territories and the people displaced from the occupied lands,” he said.
Asked whether the Congress aid can influence negotiations on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Polukhov said: "The official position of the U.S. on the conflict is that it recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty."
