Azerbaijani ambassador to Iran submits copy of credentials to FM Manouchehr Mottaki

Newly-appointed ambassador of Azerbaijan to Iran Javanshir Akhundov has submitted copy of his credentials to the Iranian foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said.

Following the presentation ceremony, the two sides discussed the development of bilateral relations and upcoming visit of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Iran next week.

Mottaki said Mammadyarov’s visit to Tehran will promote development of relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Akhundov said he would work for improvement and extension of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran during his mission.

The ambassador said the government and people of Azerbaijan advocated for the strengthening of relations with Iran.
