Erdogan will prove to Obama that opening of border with Armenia and Karabakh problem are interdependent: expert

“I think Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will prove to U.S. President Barack Obama that opening of border the Turkey-Armenia border and resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are interdependent,” Russia-based Center for Post Soviet Area Studies Political Forecasting Center Director Alexander Karavayev said.

“I think even if it will not the primary motive of their negotiations, it will be debated anyway. Relations between Turkey and the United States include a much larger set of issues than just issues related to Armenia and Azerbaijan. Nevertheless, this issue is at the forefront of discussions,” the expert said.
