Common conflict resolution principles should be developed: Russian FM

"The settlement of conflicts is vital for security within the OSCE”, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the 17th OSCE Ministerial Council in Athens.

He said it was important to set common principle for settlement of crises to avoid military ways of the conflict resolution.

"Such principles enable to avoid the scenario of military solution that we witnessed in case of Georgia in August last year," the Russian foreign minster said.

Lavrov said it was important to combat terrorism and drug trafficking for security within the OSCE.

"A number of declarations will be adopted at this meeting. Russia is an author of some of these declarations. There is also a document about the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II," Lavrov added.
