A delegation of the Azerbaijan Parliament headed by Speaker Ogtay Asadov took part at the 34th regular session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC).
Azerbaijani MP Mubariz Gurbanli who attended the meeting of PA BSEC said at the briefing that the present agenda also included effective usage of natural resources and reservoirs.
“We noted at the meeting that Armenia has occupied 17,000 sq km of our country’s territory, Azerbaijan’s natural and cultural values have been destroyed, the aggressors have deliberately polluted Azerbaijan’s reservoirs, the Araz river, arsons have been committed in the forests. BSEC adopts recommendations and we have amendments to these recommendations. We plan to make speeches in every committee. Of course, speaker Ogtay Asadov’s speech also conceptually covers these issues,” he said.
Gurbanli said PA BSEC has no right to impose sanctions against any country.
“But despite the organization is of economic character, we always state that Armenia is aggressor,” he said.
Gurbanli said speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Ogtay Asadov met with speaker of Russian parliament Boris Gryzlov and speaker of the Turkish parliament Mehmet Ali Sahin.
Asked whether Ogtay Asadov would meet with speaker of Armenian parliament Ovik Avramyan, Gurbanli said he had no exact information about it.
