Ago Monitoring Group of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers arrived in Azerbaijan on Nov. 23.

The aim of the visit is to assess Azerbaijan’s fulfilling the commitments to the Council of Europe.
Members of the Ago Group are expected to meet with President Ilham Aliyev, Speaker of the Parliament Ogtay Asadov, leadership of Justice Ministry, Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, Supreme Court, Central Election Commission, leading opposition parties, nongovernmental organizations and media outlets.
The Group members also plan to meet with the ambassadors of the Council of Europe member states to Azerbaijan.
The Ago Monitoring Group’s visit to the region begun on Nov. 20. CoE Ago Monitoring Group is led by Stelian Stoyan, permanent representative of Romania in the Council of Europe.
