Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries (TurkPA) will have its office at a new building of the Azerbaijani parliament, TurkPA Secretary General Ramil Hasanov said.
He said representatives of TurkPA member countries will arrive in Azerbaijan and begin their diplomatic activities till January 5, 2010.
Hasanov said he held his first meetings as secretary general.
He met with chairman of Turkish parliament Mehmet Ali Shahin last month and discussed the organization’s working plan for 2010.
Ali Shahin proposed to hold Congress of World Turkic-speaking Parliamentarians in Istanbul in 2010 on the occasion of 90th anniversary of Turkish parliament.
“I reported to the speakers of Azerbaijani and Kazakh parliaments about that. Most probably certain measures will be taken toward this”.
Hasanov said he met with the chairman of Kazakhstan’s Senate Kasimjomart Tokayev.
He said they discussed plans of conference in Baku on new opportunities of strategic partnership.
