Turkish FM responds to Armenian journalists' question

"I know very well what my ancestors experienced. I know what painful it was for those expelled from their homelands in Balkans and the Caucasus”, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.

To question of the Armenian journalist: "You have noted that you oppose the policy of embargo and isolation on Iran while Turkey has for years pursued policy of isolation against Armenia. How do you explain that?" Davutoglu said he opposes embargo and isolation in all regions.

“I would like remind that we have made series political steps towards lifting this isolation. But Armenia also pursues isolation policy occupying the Azerbaijani lands and expelling Azerbaijanis from their homelands. The occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani lands and turning the people into refugees is also a form of isolation. Those people cannot return home. We want this situation to be eliminated," the minister said.
