Azerbaijan will open diplomatic missions in a number of countries next year, Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadigov said during discussions on country's 2010 state budget in the parliament.

Measures are being taken to establish embassies and diplomatic missions in Oman, Serbia, Croatia, Argentina, Thailand, Libya, Lebanon and Estonia, the deputy minister said.

Sadigov said the staff of the Foreign Ministry should be increased by 80 to 100 people to regulate the diplomatic activity and ensure rotation.

“The ministry has raised this issue in the Cabinet," he said.
