We are determined to succeed in municipal elections: Azerbaijan’s pro-government party

“Our efforts remain consistent. Our party enjoys sufficient credibility in society. Therefore, we are determined to succeed in the upcoming municipal elections”, - Azerbaijan’s pro-government Ana Vatan (Motherland) Party Chairman Fazail Agamali said.

“We encounter no hardships in our activities. I hope representatives of our party will achieve success in all regions and cities of the country”, - Agamali said.

“We have built our work in accordance with the electoral law. Currently, work continues to nominate candidates in the municipalities. I believe we will achieve our goals”, - he said.

Ana Vatan Party will take part in the elections with 1,200 candidates, he added.

"We give preference to those party members, who have a better chance of being elected. We treat our candidates with respect and do not put any restrictions on their nomination. Hopefully, we will become one of the parties which will achieve significant success in the municipal elections after ruling New Azerbaijan Party”, - Agamali said.

Azerbaijan will hold municipal elections on Dec. 23. Elections will be held for 15, 682 places in the 1, 718 municipalities. All voters besides those with the status of internally displaced persons are illegible to participate in the municipal elections. Voting will take place in 118 constituencies.

Starting from Oct. 8, individuals participating in the municipal elections can nominate for the elections. The campaign to collect signatures will continue untill Nov. 13.

Those who nominate themselves as candidates must submit signatures of voters to the election commissions no later than Nov. 13.

Lists with signatures received after this date will not be accepted.

According to the schedule, the registration of observers in the CEC will continue until Dec. 13 and in the district electoral commissions - untill Dec. 18.

Organizations willing to hold “exit poll” are required submit documents to the CEC till Dec. 3.
