As before, Turkey will continue building relations with Azerbaijan based on the principles of brotherhood, Jemil Chichek, spokesman for the Turkish government and Deputy Prime Minister, briefed the media, CNN Turk reported.

"We have fraternal relations with Azerbaijan, and nothing is more important for Turkey than the friendship with Azerbaijan," said Chichek.
According to Chichek, the relations between the two countries are developing dynamically, every week officials of Azerbaijan and Turkey make reciprocal visits.
Whatever steps Turkey has taken, it will always act in accordance with the interests of Azerbaijan, said Chichek.
Armenian-Turkish protocol on the normalization of relations, signed in Zurich on Saturday, also aims to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and stop the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani territories," said Chichek.
Turkish and Armenian Foreign Ministers, Ahmet Davutoglu and Edward Nalbandian signed the protocol Ankara-Yerevan in Zurich on Oct. 10.
Armenian-Turkish ties have been severed since 1993 due to Armenia's claims to recognize so-called "Armenian genocide" and Armenia's occupation of Azerbaijani lands.
For coming into force, the protocol must be ratified by the parliaments of Turkey and Armenia.
Protocol will be sent to the Turkish Grand National Assembly next week, said Chichek.
Serious progress is not expected to take place without settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh problem, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated a day after the signing of the protocols.
