The summit of CIS heads of states and governments has started in Chisinau.

Acting President of Moldova Mihai Ghimpu is chairing the summit.
Presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Ukraine, Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, speaker of Uzbekistan parliament and CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev are attending the summit.
The meeting will last three hours. Heads of states will hold a meeting first, following this, the meeting will continue with participation of the delegations.
Dmitry Medvedev will attend only the meeting of heads of states. Medvedev is expected to meet with Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents.
At the end of the summit Moldova will hand over the CIS chairmanship to Russia.
