"There are common principles of forming commissions,” Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said commenting on the views that some opposition parties are not represented in the election commissions.
CEC chairman said election commissions are formed as envisaged in the Electoral Code.
“According to the Electoral Code, election commissions are formed of the representatives of majority, minority and non-party men. Now election commissions have been formed based on this principle," Panahov said.
In fact, I do not consider such claims of parties to be bad. Political parties have their interests. This is a political struggle. In a democratic society all political parties should approach the issues from the aspect they want, on condition that it serves the people,” he said.
